Barn doors

Whilst poring over pictures of barn conversions, I discovered this intreaging rustic trend; sliding barn doors used inside the home. How nice are these?

Not only to they add wow factor and a punch of industrial rustic chic, they are space saving so useful for small spaces or tight corners.

Possibly best suited to industrial or agricultural buildings, but if you aspire to living in a barn, why not?

  1. These images are so inspiring, perfect for a high ceilinged room. Have you ever watched the TV series New Girl? Jess has doors like this into her bedroom and closet, they are fabulous.

Thanks for the link to ‘House Tweaking’ another one for the reading list, if only I had higher ceilings upstairs so I could follow this tutorial. I don’t think it would look quite as lovely in my Dorma Bungalow :)

  2. Hi Kelly, sorry I missed your comment. I have not watched New Girl but will try and catch it now!

There are always such fabulous sets on TV, particularly some of the American shows. Having said that there were some amazing huge glass doors in Luther last week.

Yes, this trend does require ceiling height…unless you make your own of course. Hope all is going well x
